Candide by Voltaire
What is Candide about? And why should I read it; you may ask.
Here's what you need to know to be able to understand Candide:
"We must cultivate our garden" ("Il faut cultiver notre jardin") is the famous final line of Voltaire's 1759 satirical novel, Candide.
After witnessing war, natural disasters, and immense human suffering, the characters stop trying to solve the universe's ultimate metaphysical problems and instead focus on practical, local, and meaningful work.
Self-Care and Peace:
Working on a personal "garden" shields you from the chaos, cruelty, and corruption of the outside world.
You cannot fix the entire world, but you can improve your immediate.
